The Commission for Combating Antisocial Behavior of Minors in the city reports an increase in aggression among children in Ruse. In addition to hooliganism and theft, there is a trend of violence against parents, reports Nova TV.
A mother of a teenager who sought help says that her daughter got into bad company. It even came to beating another child.
„They called me and told me that something had happened, they got together and fought. Several girls beat up another. Shame, disgrace, I don't know what to say, I don't know how to react”, she says.
The case is just one of many that illustrate the worrying trend in Ruse - teenagers acting in organized aggressive groups.
“Now girls are also creating such groups - they steal, beat and attack”, explained Tatyana Kyuranova from the Commission for Combating Antisocial Behavior of Minors and Juveniles in Ruse. She also revealed a case of a “criminal” group that attacked, blackmailed and stole money from children. However, they managed to break it up.
The children demonstrated disrespect for authority - both of parents and teachers. The family environment turns out to be key in determining behavior. “There is a trend of violence - both verbal and economic - against parents, with extreme cases of physical violence”, Kyuranova pointed out.
Parents find themselves in a dead end - on the one hand, they become victims of their child's actions, and on the other - they are responsible before the law for his actions. More and more often, they seek help from the commission for antisocial behavior, powerless to deal with their children.
An example of this is an 11-year-old boy whose relatives reported to the Ministry of Internal Affairs because of daily conflicts, breaking and hitting. It turned out that the child was going through a difficult divorce of his parents. His anger escalated into aggression towards his mother. Another case involves economic violence that escalated into verbal, blackmail and suicide threats by the child.
“Every parent tries to ensure the well-being of their child, which, however, reflects on habits such as work and on the value system. Respect and gratitude - these things are missing”, Kyuranova believes.
The law provides for 13 educational measures that can be imposed - from a warning to placement in a boarding school. Last year, a boy from Ruse was placed in the boarding school in Rakitovo. Kyuranova explained that he had 34 educational cases. “The family environment is criminal - one parent is in prison, the other has been convicted multiple times”, she added, emphasizing that there were no resources to deal with the situation.
