Kassam-Jomart Tokayev and Rumen Radev issued a joint statement to the media

Today's negotiations will give a new impetus to bilateral cooperation

Head of State Kassam-Jomart Tokayev and President of Bulgaria Rumen Radev issued a joint statement to the media.

This was announced by the Embassy of Kazakhstan in Sofia.

Kassam-Jomart Tokayev expressed gratitude to Rumen Radev for accepting the invitation to pay an official visit to Kazakhstan.

Bulgaria is an important and reliable partner of Kazakhstan in Southeast Europe. Our cooperation is based on strong friendship and mutual understanding. We perceive Bulgaria as a strategically important partner and attach great importance to the further development of relations with your country. Last week marked 33 years since the establishment of diplomatic relations between our countries. Your visit to Kazakhstan coincided with this significant event. During this period, Astana and Sofia have established an active political dialogue at all levels, based on mutual trust. A strong contractual and legal framework has been created, ties in the trade, economic and investment spheres are being strengthened, President Kassam-Jomart Tokayev emphasized.

The President of Bulgaria noted that the countries have made a serious analysis of interstate relations in all areas of mutual interest. Currently, there is a huge potential for strengthening engagement, he said.

I am convinced that today's negotiations will give a new impetus to bilateral cooperation. The signed Memorandum on the further development of the Trans-Caspian Transport Corridor is the embodiment of our aspirations. It is necessary to use the strategic geographical position of Kazakhstan and Bulgaria on this route, which connects Asia with Europe, to the maximum advantage. In addition, we have huge opportunities not only in cargo transport, energy and digitalization, but also in expanding our cultural ties, said Rumen Radev.
