Radomir Cholakov, Deputy Chairman of CPC, stated on Nova TV that the overreaction by regulators was caused by the over-panic of political forces.
„For many years, the Bulgarian administration has been quite feudalized. We must be very careful not to hit the producer in the end. This is exactly where the idea of the synchronization between the three bodies – NRA, CPC and CPC. NRA has the opportunity to receive all the information, CPC has the opportunity to analyze where exactly the differentiation occurs. Our commission can establish a cartel. We sanction the most severely”, he added.
“If in a small town there is a large chain that has killed all the small shops, there can easily be regulations. The local government is to blame for allowing it. In many agricultural sectors we do not have food production. This means that we have to import them, and this means that the importer and the trader can arbitrarily increase prices”, he added.
”The economy is a complex, comprehensive system. Last night I was walking around the center of Sofia. You know that there are no seats in restaurants there in the evening. At the same time, there are small settlements that are an economic desert”, Cholakov explained.
According to him, it was wrong for people to start buying apartments en masse because they think that after adopting the euro, prices will skyrocket.
