The MP from Haskovo Mumun Sali Mumun left the parliamentary group of the "Alliance for Rights and Freedoms" (APS) and announced that he would remain in the National Assembly as an independent MP. He announced his decision with a detailed position on "Facebook".
"As a sign of disagreement with what is happening, I remain in this National Assembly as an independent MP", said Mumun Mumun.
He is the third MP to leave Ahmed Dogan's group, after Cevdet Chakarov and Vanya Vasileva. With his withdrawal, the parliamentary group of the APS, headed by Hayri Sadakov, is left with 16 MPs.
In his statement, the MP expressed strong dissatisfaction with the party's management and with the latest publication of the MRF Press Center calling for the group to be renamed "I Support Ahmed Dogan".
"Last week I expressed my dissatisfaction with what happened and what is happening. We make many mistakes", he wrote.
Mümün Mümün revealed that he attended meetings of the Central Operational Bureau, at which Ahmed Dogan personally expressed his opinion on the renaming of the group. According to him, the mistake was that this was not said by Dogan himself, but came from the Press Center.
"The mistake yesterday was that he should have said this, and not for this position to come from the Press Center. By doing so, he allowed the PG and the leadership to be attacked once again", the MP explained.
In his extensive statement, Mumun Mumun sharply criticized the attacks against the party leadership by members of the Facebook group "I support Ahmed Dogan".
"All these people you are attacking in such an unscrupulous way have carried a huge battle on their backs. "The party has gone through and continues to go through very difficult times," he wrote.
The MP emphasized that he does not approve of the actions or inactions of the party leadership and will not pursue a policy of disunity.
"I am taking this step with my head held high because I have remained faithful and loyal - to myself, to my principles and to the trust of the people," concluded Myumyun Myumyun.
According to media reports, the MP told his colleagues from the APS that he was leaving the group, but would not take the traditional photo with Delyan Peevski, as the other two breakaways did.
