Weather today, forecast for Sunday, July 6: Dangerously hot throughout the country

Temperatures in many areas of Northern, Central and Southern Bulgaria are expected to reach between 38 and 41 degrees

An orange code for dangerously high temperatures for many areas of Northern, Central and Southern Bulgaria has been announced for today by the National Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology, BNT reported. Temperatures there are expected to reach between 38 and 41 degrees.

The heat throughout the country will be widespread, with a yellow warning code for temperatures up to 37 degrees announced in the remaining regions.

In the afternoon, cumulus clouds will develop over the mountainous regions in the western half of the country and in some places there will be showers and thunder. A light to moderate wind will blow from the south-southeast.

Maximum temperatures will be between 35° and 40°.

In the mountains it will be sunny, after noon cumulus and cumulus-rainy clouds will develop over the massifs of Western and Central Bulgaria and in places it will rain and thunder. There will be a moderate wind from the west-southwest. The maximum temperature at an altitude of 1200 meters will be about 30°, at 2000 meters - about 22°.

On the Black Sea coast it will be sunny, after noon and hot. There will be a weak to moderate wind from the southeast. The maximum temperatures will be between 27° and 30°. The temperature of the sea water is 24°-26°. The sea will be 1-2 degrees.

These values are expected to continue to rise in the coming days, and on Tuesday they may permanently settle between 37 and 42 degrees.
