With an overwhelming majority, the European Parliament rejected all texts related to "Macedonian identity and language" from the progress report on North Macedonia.

In recent weeks, I have held a number of conversations with European leaders and representatives of leading political families in the EU. I have clearly explained that European institutions and their documents should not be used for nationalist propaganda, but should serve truth and good neighborliness. I am glad that Bulgaria's voice was heard.
I extend my hand again to our friends in North Macedonia - let us move forward together, based on respect and implementation of the Treaty of Friendship and Good Neighborliness. And on the European consensus of 2022. In my person and in the person of Bulgaria, they will always have a sincere and close partner".
