A record average speed was recorded by the TOLL cameras on the "Trakia" highway. 194 kilometers per hour - this is the speed recorded by the video surveillance in the Ihtiman - Vakarel section in the direction of Sofia.
"The section is 19.2 km long. The driver was going up towards Vakarel and managed to reach this speed". This was stated on NOVA by the expert at the National TOLL Administration, Assoc. Prof. Georgi Balabanov.
He recalled that fines are now also imposed for driving in the emergency lane. Several such violators have already been caught, who were driving at a speed of 80 km/h, which "is not a sign of any accident".
According to Associate Professor Balabanov, on Thursday alone, about 100 drivers were caught driving in the emergency lane.
