„Water management in Bulgaria is quite bad, it's been like this for decades. Wasting such a valuable resource is absolutely unacceptable. These problems are recurring, because for every crisis we rush to respond with a short-term solution.“
This was stated by MEP Nikola Minchev to bTV, quoted by novini.bg

„The measures that have been drafted and adopted by a commission are largely within the competence of the authorities. They have to do their job anyway. A national board is being created – I don't understand the need for it. I explain it to myself that a plot is being created in which the National Assembly will untie the hands of the executive branch. They are not tied anyway, however. Obviously, the majority that stands behind the government wins – this is how the responsibility is removed from the cabinet“, he believes.
He commented on the corruption scandal in “We continue the change” in the following way: “Let the judicial bodies do their job. But we notice that this is happening only against opposition cadres. The law should be applied equally to everyone. I'm not saying that since we are in opposition, no one from the PP should be investigated. Corruption is mainly in those in power, that's where the tools are”.

“There will be a change in the party structures in a month, when there is a scheduled congress. I have no ambition to become the party chairman. It seems to me that the "Varna" case, with its obvious injustice in the way Blagomir Kotsev and the two municipal councilors were detained, is leading to mobilization within the party core," he outlined the situation in the party.

He is not worried about the request to lift his immunity as an MEP.

Minchev does not expect early parliamentary elections. His party does not yet have a specific name for the presidential elections next year.
