A protest under the slogan "Resistance against the dictatorship" is taking place in Sofia, coinciding with the first working day of the National Assembly after the summer vacation. The demonstration was organized by the civil initiative "Justice for Everyone" and began at 6:30 p.m. in front of the Palace of Justice, BNR recalls.

The participants in the protest accuse the authorities of having "taken over and turned into personal bludgeons of a criminal group". Organizers called on citizens to carry Bulgarian and European flags, as well as personal messages against what they define as a "conquered state".

The march will follow a pre-planned route from the Courthouse to the National Assembly and will end at Orlov Most, with "interesting detours" planned along the way, according to organizers.

The protest received the official support of the parliamentary coalition "Continuing Change - Democratic Bulgaria". MP and co-chair of "Yes, Bulgaria" Ivaylo Mirchev told the media that the event is part of a broader plan for opposition and that further protest actions are expected in the fall.

"The vote of no confidence is becoming increasingly relevant. "If citizens do not understand the threat to their rights from the conquered state, now they clearly understand that this is a threat to their interests as well," commented Mirchev, quoted by the Bulgarian National Radio.

This is the second protest against the government for the day, with demonstrations expected in other cities in the country. The "Justice for Everyone" initiative began a series of protests in July after the arrest of Varna Mayor Blagomir Kotsev.
