Kim Jong-un vows eternal friendship with Russia on Putin's 73rd birthday

The DPRK leader assured the Russian president that the country will continue to "comprehensively support the just struggle of the Russian people to defend their sovereignty and territorial integrity

North Korean leader Kim Jong-un has congratulated Russian President Vladimir Putin on his birthday, expressing confidence in the eternal friendship and continued allied relations between the two countries, the Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) reported.

“I am confident that thanks to the friendly ties and close comradely ties between us, the allied relations between the two countries - the DPRK and the Russian Federation, which have experienced a period of rapid development - will continue to unswervingly continue and powerfully promote the all-round expansion and development of bilateral relations, as well as make important contributions to the formation of a just and multipolar world order,“ he noted.

Kim Jong-un assured Putin that the DPRK will continue to "comprehensively support the just struggle of the Russian people to defend their sovereignty and territorial integrity, as well as the security interests of the state, will consider this a fraternal duty and will always faithfully fulfill the treaty between the DPRK and the Russian Federation."

“Pyongyang and Moscow will always be together and our friendship will be eternal”, concluded Kim Jong-un.

The Russian president celebrates his 73rd birthday on October 7. As reported by the presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov, Putin is expected to have a large number of international contacts that day.
