The Telegraph: Ukraine not sure it will receive Tomahawk from the US, admits a categorical refusal

Even if approved, the delivery would take several months, the publication claims

If Washington approves the delivery of „Tomahawk“ cruise missiles to Ukraine, it could take several months, potentially leaving Kiev without permission to use them, writes the British newspaper The Telegraph.

The newspaper notes that Ukraine is not sure that these missiles will be transferred. Yegor Chernev, deputy chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on National Security, according to The Telegraph, expects US President Donald Trump to take any action, from a complete refusal to supply the missiles to a gradual transfer of „Tomahawk“.

As Trump stated on October 6, commenting on the possibility of delivering „Tomahawk“ missiles to Kiev, he does not seek further escalation of the conflict in Ukraine. However, the American leader stated that he had practically made a decision on the possibility of transferring the “Tomahawk“ to Kiev, but did not explain what this decision implies.

On October 2, at a plenary session of the “Valdai“ International Discussion Club, Russian President Vladimir Putin noted that “the use of “Tomahawk“ without the direct participation of American servicemen is impossible; this would mark a completely new, qualitatively new stage of escalation, including in relations between Russia and the United States“. On October 5, he emphasized that a possible decision by Washington to deliver “Tomahawk“ to Kiev would lead to the destruction of positive trends in Russian-American relations.
