Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan today welcomed the entry into force of the ceasefire agreement between Israel and “Hamas“, but warned that any return to “the environment of genocide“ in Gaza will have a “very heavy price”, the Anadolu Agency reported, quoted by BTA.
At the ceremony for the opening of new facilities in the Black Sea province of Rize, Erdogan said that Turkey has done and will continue to do everything possible to help restore peace, security and stability in Gaza “as soon as possible”.
Regarding the ceasefire agreement, the Turkish president stressed that “what is most important at the moment is to ensure that the agreement is implemented to the last letter”, adding that Ankara will actively contribute to this process.
Erdogan described the agreement as “a big step” towards lasting peace despite the challenges it faces. “The door to lasting peace in Gaza has been opened. We say – enough bloodshed”, the Turkish president said.
