US President Donald Trump again said that he does not want to "waste his time" meeting with his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin if there is no prospect of concluding an agreement to end the war in Ukraine, Agence France-Presse reported, quoted by dariknews.bg.
On Tuesday, Trump already said that he did not want a "pointless meeting" with Putin after the one in Alaska in August. The reason is the differences in positions on the war in Ukraine.
Last night, the US president reiterated this position on his way to Qatar, where his plane will stop for refueling before continuing on to Malaysia, where the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) summit is scheduled for tomorrow.
"I need to know that we will make a deal," Trump told reporters aboard "Air Force One" in response to a question about what could convince him to meet with Putin again.
"I'm not going to waste my time. I've always had a great relationship with Vladimir Putin, but this has been very disappointing," he added, referring to attempts to resolve the Russian-Ukrainian conflict.
