US President Donald Trump's plan to resolve the conflict in the Gaza Strip is working so far, Palestinian Ambassador to Moscow Abdel Hafez Nofal said.
“So far, Trump's plan is going well“, the diplomat noted.
The ambassador stressed the importance of respecting the ceasefire. “There are violations by Israel, we know that. But the worst would be if the war starts again. The first stage should proceed normally. The second stage will be the most difficult. Because international organizations will be involved, and Hamas will participate in laying down arms,“ he added.
Furthermore, in the context of the agreement, the diplomat drew attention to the importance of three principles: “end of the war, release of hostages and withdrawal of the Israeli army from Gaza“.
On October 9, Israel and Hamas, with the mediation of Egypt, Qatar, the United States and Turkey, agreed to implement the first phase of the peace plan presented by US President Donald Trump. The ceasefire in Gaza, according to Trump's plan, came into effect on October 10.
