Diana Hrka, the mother of one of the 16 victims of the tragedy in Novi Sad, was taken by private car late last night from the place where she began her hunger strike in front of the Serbian Parliament on November 2, BTA reported.
According to information from the Serbian portal "Mashina" Hrka was taken to hospital.
Footage on social media showed that after she felt unwell, she was taken by the military veterans guarding her to a private hospital.
Hrka was briefly in the health facility, put on life support and then returned to her tent in front of parliament to continue her hunger strike, regional television channel En 1 reported.
Earlier today, Hrka said that the hunger strike could be fatal for her, but that she was taking these actions for the future of Serbia and because she was seeking justice for the death of her child.
Hrka's demands are for convictions for the tragic incident in Novi Sad, where a railway station canopy collapsed a year ago and 16 people died, including her son Stefan.
Diana Hrka called on Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic to schedule early parliamentary elections.
Two days ago, she spoke with the head of state on the phone, and today she said she was disappointed with him and called him a "coward".
Vučić described his conversation with Hrka as respectful and said he would fight for her to end her hunger strike.
From November 2 to today, Hrka has been supported by many citizens, students, high school students and famous representatives of Serbian artistic circles in Belgrade.
During this period of time, rallies were organized in various cities in Serbia in support of Diana, and her supporters clashed with Vučić supporters in front of the Serbian Parliament building.
This evening, citizens gathered near Hrka's tent in front of the Assembly and lit candles for her health.
