The Kremlin is probably trying to divide Ukraine and the United States of America so that Russia can continue the war without the support and assistance of the US and the West. This is stated in the latest report of the Institute for the Study of War (ISW).

Analysts recall that in recent months the Kremlin has rejected Washington's proposals for a ceasefire and negotiations, while Ukraine has consistently demonstrated a readiness for dialogue and compromise.

ISW notes that Russian President Vladimir Putin and other Kremlin representatives have confirmed their intention to achieve their initial military goals through diplomatic means, but have rejected previous US proposals.

Ukraine has agreed to all proposals for a ceasefire and prisoner exchange that have been proposed so far by the administration of US President Donald Trump, and has demonstrated a willingness to compromise on the terms of a lasting peace.

"The sudden and public imposition of the plan on Ukraine, as well as the requirement for Ukraine to make a quick decision on the plan, giving it less than a week to consider it, creates the impression that Ukraine is the country that does not "wants progress and is blocking it, even though the Kremlin itself has expressed dissatisfaction with the plan," analysts believe.

Meanwhile, Russian authorities are creating information conditions for rejecting the peace plan, which satisfies most of Russia's insistent demands.

At the same time, Putin and other senior Russian officials continue to publicly reiterate that Russia will achieve its military goals through military means.

Yesterday, the Russian president reiterated that Russia is open to achieving peace through diplomacy, but that it is "ready" to continue pursuing its military goals through military means.

A day earlier, on November 20, Putin visited the command post of Russia's Western Military District, stating that the most important task is achieving Russia's military goals, which, in his words, the "homeland" and "people of Russia" have put before the Kremlin.

Also at the meeting with Putin, the Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, Valery Gerasimov, announced that Russian troops would continue the mission of capturing the remaining part of the Luhansk, Donetsk, Zaporizhia and Kherson regions in accordance with the existing military plan.

According to American analysts, these statements support the belief of the Russian people that they should expect Russia to completely capture all four regions.
