No oil infrastructure was damaged on the strategic Kharg Island, the Iranian news agency FARS reported after US strikes on military facilities on the key Iranian island in the Persian Gulf yesterday, which President Donald Trump declared "completely destroyed", BTA writes.

"The attack caused 15 explosions, but no oil facilities were damaged", FARS reported, citing unnamed "sources on the ground".

"The enemy tried to hit the army's defense facilities, the "Joshan" naval base, the airport control tower and the helicopter hangar of the Iranian company "Continental Shelf Oil Company", FARS specified, quoted by Agence France-Presse.

On the island of Kharg, about 30 kilometers from the coast, is located Iran's largest oil export terminal, which provides about 90% of the country's crude oil exports, according to a recent assessment by the American bank "JP Morgan".

Donald Trump announced last night on his social network that he "has completely destroyed" military sites on the island and warned that it would also destroy its oil facilities "if Iran or anyone else takes any action to prevent the free and safe passage of ships through the Strait of Hormuz."

"All oil, economic and energy facilities belonging to oil companies in the region that are partially owned by the US or that cooperate with the US will be immediately destroyed and reduced to ashes," warned the spokesman for the Revolutionary Guards-affiliated "Khatam al-Anbiya" central headquarters, quoted by Iranian media.
