Russian attack hits two buildings in Ukrainian city of Odessa

Two buildings were hit in the Ukrainian Black Sea city of Odessa in a massive Russian drone attack tonight, the head of the city's military administration, Sergiy Lysak, announced on the "Telegram" app.

A multi-storey residential building was hit, as well as a building in the central part of the city.

All emergency services have sent teams to the sites of the strikes. No information about casualties has been received so far.

The airstrike was announced at 11:34 p.m. local time last night (also Bulgarian time).

Russian forces attacked Odessa with drones from the Black Sea, with loud explosions.

Nearly 15 drones were directed from the sea towards all areas of the city, the head of the Odessa regional military administration Oleg Kiper informed on "Telegram" and local channels in the application in question.

Local authorities called on residents to take shelter in bomb shelters.

The Bulgarians in the Odessa region number over 150,000 people and are the third largest according to the latest official census in Ukraine.

50-60 thousand Bulgarians live in the city of Odessa itself. The largest compact Bulgarian population is concentrated in the Bolgrad, Izmail and Belgorod-Dniester regions.
