Iranian President Massoud Pezeshkian and Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf said there are no divisions among the Iranian people or leadership – they are unwaveringly united and determined to win.
“There are no radicals or moderates in Iran; we are all Iranians and revolutionaries, and with the iron unity of the nation and the government, with full obedience to the Supreme Leader of the Revolution, we will make the criminal aggressors regret their actions“, said a statement published by the two politicians in X.
The leaders expressed full confidence in the readiness of the Iranian people to achieve victory. “One God, One Nation, One Leader, One Path - The Path of "Victory for our beloved Iran, which is more precious than life," they stressed.
Iran's Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei had previously warned the public about a campaign in foreign media aimed at undermining the country's unity.
The United States and Israel launched a war against Iran on February 28. On April 7, US President Donald Trump announced a two-week ceasefire with the Islamic Republic. According to Tehran, 3,375 Iranians were killed in US-Israeli strikes during the 40-day war.
On April 11, Tehran and Washington held talks in Islamabad, but the sides failed to reach an agreement on a long-term settlement due to a number of differences.
On April 21, the US leader announced his intention to extend the ceasefire with Iran. According to Iranian state television, Tehran does not intend to recognize the unilateral extension of the ceasefire under fire from Washington and will act in accordance with its own interests.
