Colombia has ordered the expulsion of Argentine diplomats from Argentina's embassy in Colombia after Argentine President Javier Millay called Colombian President Gustavo Petro a "terrorist," Reuters reported, citing BTA, citing the Colombian Foreign Ministry.
In a recent CNN interview, Miley called Petro a "terrorist", a "murderer" and "communist", Reuters explains.
"The statements of the Argentine president negatively affect the credibility of our nation, while at the same time affecting the dignity of President Petro, who was democratically elected," the foreign ministry said in a statement.
In January, Colombia recalled its ambassador to Argentina after similar remarks by Javier Millay.
Gustavo Petro is a former member of the M-19 guerrilla movement, which has long been disbanded, Reuters explains.
In Millay's interview, there are also attacks on other regional leaders, including Mexican President Andrés Manuel López Obrador.
