According to unofficial data, 46,495 people voted in the vote on Sunday in Turkey , BTA reported.
There were 13,517 votes cast in Istanbul, and 13,843 votes were cast in Bursa.
A total of 166 polling stations were opened in Turkey, but in almost all but four polling stations, expatriates voted for the new 50th Bulgarian parliament.
Only four sections on the territory of Turkey voted for the Bulgarian Parliament and the European Parliament at the same time.
The analysis shows that, in general, there is a drop of about 30 percent in the voter turnout of expatriates compared to the vote in April of this year. At that time, according to the SEC data, 65,668 people voted in Turkey. And in October 2022, about 58,000 people voted.
Sources from the expatriate circles commented to BTA that there are several reasons. First of all - voter fatigue due to the long election marathon - for the sixth consecutive election in several years.
Disappointment among the voters, that there is no hope of forming a regular government in Bulgaria, is also cited as a reason. Last but not least is the reason that Bulgarian political parties are not at all interested in the problems of Bulgarian Turks and emigrants, they do not include them in politics and institutions.
Election day also coincided with the candidate student exams, which allegedly prevented people, especially in big cities, from going to the polls to vote.
