Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan and US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken discussed efforts to secure a ceasefire between Israel and the Palestinian armed group "Hamas" in a telephone conversation today, the spokesman of the Turkish Foreign Ministry, Yonju Keceli, announced in the profile of the ministry in "X", quoted by BTA.
The speaker specified that the call was at the request of the American side.
"Our Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan held a telephone conversation today (August 21) with US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken. In the conversation initiated by the responding party, the latest status of the ceasefire negotiations between Hamas and Israel and the development of events in the region were discussed," the publication said, without going into further details.
