Zelensky discussed the situation at the front with Scholz

The Ukrainian president and the German prime minister spoke by phone

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced today that in a telephone conversation he informed German Chancellor Olaf Scholz about the situation at the front after the Ukrainian invasion of the Kursk region in Russia, reported Reuters, quoted by BTA.

The two also discussed the need for air defense and armored vehicles.

During the conversation, Scholz once again assured the Ukrainian president of his “continued and unwavering solidarity” with the warring people, a spokeswoman for the German government announced.

Scholz made the announcement amid his government's plans to cut the budget for bilateral military aid to Kiev next year.

„The Chancellor reaffirmed Germany's permanent and unwavering solidarity with Ukraine in the face of Russia's continued aggression. President Zelensky thanked the federal government for continued military support, especially in air defense, the chancellor's office said in a statement about the conversation held on Ukraine's Independence Day celebrations.
