Six air alerts were announced on the Independence Day of Ukraine in the Zaporizhzhia region, announced the chairman of the Zaporizhzhia regional military administration, Ivan Fyodorov, BTA reported.
The last alarm sirens were activated at 22:16 (corresponds to Bulgarian time)
Regional authorities call on citizens to immediately seek bomb shelters.
According to the regional governor, during an enemy attack in Stepnogirsk, three employees of the state emergency service were injured.
„The occupiers hit with artillery, as a result of which damage was done to private houses on five streets”, added Ivan Fyodorov on the social network “Telegram”.
The fire that broke out was extinguished by the emergency services.
In the Zaporozhye region, Bulgarians number 27,764 people according to the last census in Ukraine in 2001. The Bulgarian community in the region is concentrated in the Primorsky, Melitopol, Berdyan and Priazov regions, which have been occupied since the beginning of the war until now. The first settlement of Bulgarian settlers from Bessarabia in the Azov region began in 1861 and lasted until 1862.
