Estonia said that he will not participate in the meetings of the European Union, which are hosted by the rotating president of the Council of the European Union, Hungary, reported DPA, quoted by BTA.

This means that Estonia will not send ministers to meetings that Hungary hosts during its rotating presidency.

"Hungary abused its role as EU President with actions that seriously undermined trust" in it, a spokesman for the Estonian government said yesterday on Estonian radio.

Hungary currently holds the rotating presidency of the Council of the European Union. This means that during its six-month presidency, Budapest hosts a series of informal meetings.

Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán has been criticized by some EU countries for visiting Russia and China after his country took over the rotating presidency.

Sweden and Lithuania were the first countries to say they would not send ministers to the meetings in Hungary. Latvia said it would consider whether to send ministers on a case-by-case basis.

The spokesperson of the Estonian government clarified that his country will continue to participate in the official meetings in Brussels.
