Israeli President Yitzhak Herzog will visited Serbia and Albania today, according to the publication “Times of Israel”, which refers to an Israeli official representative, quoted by BTA.
During his 24-hour visit to the two Balkan countries, Herzog is expected to meet with Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic, Albanian President Bayram Begai and Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama.
Serbian news agency Tanjug reports that Herzog will be welcomed by Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic. The welcoming ceremony will be held in front of the Palace of Serbia at 10:30 a.m., after which there will be a one-on-one meeting between the two presidents, the Media Cooperation Office announced.
A plenary meeting of the delegations of Serbia and Israel, led by Serbian President Vucic and Israeli President Herzog, will be held within the framework of the visit. The two presidents will then speak to the media and will also deliver opening remarks at a round table on "Synergy in Innovation: Talks between Serbia and Israel".
Serbian Foreign Minister Marko Djuric met with Israeli Ambassador Avivit Bar-Ilan yesterday and pointed out that Herzog's visit is an opportunity to improve bilateral relations at all levels, reports En 1 TV. Djuric said that Belgrade is monitoring the situation in the Middle East east with great attention and concern and added that the Serbs remain committed to diplomatic initiatives for peace and the release of the hostages.
