The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Hungary , Peter Szijarto, stated today that Budapest will not support Kosovo's membership in the Council of Europe, reports TANYUG, quoted by BTA.

„We hope for success in the dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina, but we think that Kosovo's candidacy for membership in international organizations will not be beneficial for this dialogue,”, Sijarto emphasized to the agency. “Hungary will not support the accession of Kosovo to the Council of Europe.“

Szijjártó added that Hungary's position regarding Kosovo's membership in the Council of Europe is clear from earlier, but the country supports peace, stability and security in the Western Balkans region.

Today he met in Budapest with the Serbian Minister of Economy, Adriana Mesarovic, with whom they discussed progress in economic relations between the two countries.
