The authorities in Kiev want a cessation of hostilities along the current lines of contact, followed by the establishment of a 30-kilometer demilitarized zone.

This was stated by US President Donald Trump's special envoy for Ukraine Keith Kellogg.

“The Ukrainians want a freeze, a ceasefire along the current lines and then they want to create a demilitarized zone“, Kellogg told Fox News.

He noted that Kiev is considering the option of withdrawing Ukrainian troops by 15 km and expects the US to convince Russia to do the same.

“This provides a 30-km zone that can be observed“, Kellogg added.
