Russian President Vladimir Putin has approved the long-term strategy for the development of the Russian naval forces until 2050, world agencies reported, citing Nikolai Patrushev - an aide to the president and chairman of the Naval Collegium of the Russian Federation, BTA reports.
According to him, the document was signed by Putin on May 30.
Patrushev specified that the decision to prepare such a strategy was made in July 2024 during a meeting in the Kremlin. By order of the head of state, the Russian Ministry of Defense, in cooperation with the Naval Collegium, developed the project, taking into account proposals from various federal departments and organizations.
After finalizing the document, it was submitted to the president for consideration and official approval.
