The Ukrainian Defense Forces are gradually pushing back Russian troops from the Sumy region. This was announced by President Volodymyr Zelensky during his evening address published on Telegram, Fokus reports.

„Today I received a report from the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrsky on the state of the front, in particular the Pokrovskoye direction and the border area of the Sumy region. Our units are gradually pushing back the occupiers. I thank each and every one of our soldiers“, Zelensky said.

The president also revealed details about the prisoner exchange, which took place on June 12. He pointed out that among those returned there are people who were previously considered missing.

“Today, the return of people from Russian captivity continued. This is the third stage of the exchange agreed in Istanbul. Among those released are young people who were captured back in 2022, as well as those who were previously considered missing. It is important to check every name and all available information - this is what we are doing right now. I am grateful to everyone who is helping to return ours“, Zelensky added.
