Iran has ruled out talks with the US while the Israeli army continues its strikes against the country, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Argachi said in a television interview last night, quoted by Agence France-Presse, BTA reported.
"The Americans are constantly sending messages with serious calls for negotiations. But we have made it clear that until the aggression stops, there is no room for diplomacy and dialogue," Araghchi added.
The Iranian minister will meet with his British, French and German counterparts in Geneva today.
His plane has already taken off from the Turkish city of Van, near the border with Iran, according to the flight tracking application FlightRadar24. Iranian authorities usually announce their departure hours later, the Associated Press notes.
Yesterday, the Israeli military said Iran had used cluster munitions, posing a new challenge to the country's defenses. Rather than tracking a single warhead, these missiles are more challenging to destroy than Israeli air defense systems such as the "Iron Dome".
After a week of Israeli strikes in Iran, 657 people have been killed and 2,037 wounded, the Washington-based non-governmental organization "Human Rights Activists" said today.
