Iran is assessing the damage inflicted on its nuclear industry and is taking measures to restore it. This was stated by the head of the country's nuclear program, Mohammad Eslami, quoted by "Reuters", reports News.bg.

According to him, the main goal of the planned actions is to prevent disruptions "in the production process and services" at nuclear facilities.

It is recalled that Israel and the United States carried out joint strikes on key nuclear sites on the territory of Iran. Following the US attacks, local authorities confirmed that facilities in Isfahan, Natanz and Fordow were among the targets hit.

The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) said that analysis of satellite images taken after the Israeli attacks had found evidence of a “direct impact” on the underground part of the Natanz uranium enrichment plant. The agency reported a localized increase in radiation levels in the area, but without a serious risk to the population.

On 23 June, a Financial Times article stated that it was still unclear whether the stockpile of approximately 408 kilograms of 60% enriched uranium had been destroyed or possibly transferred to secret facilities.
