The President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky awarded state awards to 226 Ukrainian servicemen, 183 of them posthumously. This was reported by the Ukrinform agency, referring to the decree of the head of state dated July 1, published on the official website of the presidential administration, BTA reports.
The awards are presented for courage shown in defending the state sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine, as well as for selfless performance of military duty.
Ukrinform recalls that just a few days earlier – on June 27 – another 283 servicemen were also awarded by President Zelensky for their service on the battlefield.
