Arranging a visit by US Secretary of State Marco Rubio to South Korea appears to be “difficult“ in the near future, the South Korean Foreign Ministry said, quoted by Reuters, BTA reports.
The statement from Seoul comes against the backdrop of reports in South Korean media earlier this week that Rubio could visit both South Korea and Japan as early as next week.
The reasons for the difficulties were not officially specified.
Further clarifications on the US Secretary of State's program, if confirmed, are expected in the coming days.
