One person was killed in a night drone attack in Odessa, the chairman of the Odessa Regional Military Administration, Oleg Kiper, announced on the Telegram app, BTA reports.

According to him, the victim was a security guard at a residential building under construction. As a result of the strike, the security room near the site caught fire.

“I offer my sincere condolences to the family and relatives of the deceased“, Kiper said in his message.

Despite the active work of the air defense forces, the attack caused damage to civilian infrastructure in the city - gas stations and cars were damaged, the regional governor specified.

All relevant services are working to eliminate the consequences of the attack.

The Bulgarian community in the Odessa region numbers over 150,000 people, according to the official census in Ukraine from 2001, with about 50-60 thousand Bulgarians living in the city of Odessa itself. The largest compact Bulgarian communities are in the Bolgradsky, Izmailsky and Belgorod-Dniester regions.
