The President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky has proposed new negotiations to Russia to be held next week, world agencies reported, quoted by BTA.

Zelensky mentioned this proposal in a post on his channel in the “Telegram“ application.

Ukraine and Russia held two rounds of negotiations in Istanbul this year, which led only to an exchange of prisoners of war, but not to a breakthrough in the positions of the two sides on the terms of the ceasefire, the agencies recall.

Zelensky said he had sent the proposal for negotiations to Moscow.

Later in his evening address to Ukrainians, he stated that the pace of the negotiations must be increased and everything must be done to achieve a ceasefire.
