Two Bulgarians, a Russian and a Greek were rescued from a damaged sailing ship in the Aegean Sea, reports Hcg.gr, quoted by FOCUS.
In the early hours of the day, the Aegean Sea Port Authority was informed by the Joint Search and Rescue Coordination Center (EKSED) about the loss of control due to mechanical damage and the inability to use the sails of a sailing ship (R/C) under the Greek flag. There were four people on board - 2 Bulgarian citizens, 1 Greek and 1 Russian citizen. The vessel was sailing in the sea area of the Gulf of Corinth.
A patrol ship of the Greek Coast Guard immediately went to the place where it located the sailing ship with its passengers in good health. The sailboat subsequently sailed to the new port of the Aegean Sea, with the help of a fishing vessel. The Third Port Department of the Aegean Sea of the Central Port Authority of Patras prohibited the sailing vessel from sailing until a certificate of seaworthiness was provided. No marine pollution was observed from the incident.
