At least 57 people were injured as a result of an explosion of a gas tanker in the Mexican capital, the city's mayor Clara Brugada announced.
„According to preliminary information, the gas tanker with a capacity of 49.3 thousand liters overturned. The exact causes of the incident will be established by the prosecutor's office. After the overturning, a series of explosions occurred. As a result, 57 people were injured and taken to various hospitals“, the mayor said in a video message published on X.
Eighteen cars were damaged.
„Nineteen injured are in serious condition. Helicopters, ambulances and all emergency services that arrived at the scene of the incident were used for the evacuation,“ she added.
