Denmark plans to buy air defense systems worth 58 billion Danish kroner (about 9 billion dollars) - the largest arms order in the country's history, Reuters reports, BTA reports.
In February, Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen urged the armed forces "not to stop buying" weapons, preparing for a possible Russian attack on Europe. Defense Minister Trolls Lund Poulsen said: “There is no doubt that Europe's security is under threat“.
Denmark intends to acquire eight anti-aircraft systems, including long-range systems such as the Franco-Italian SAMP/T, as well as medium-range systems manufactured in Norway, Germany and France.
