The Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF) has announced that it will temporarily suspend the distribution of aid intended for women in the Gaza Strip due to alleged plans by the Hamas group to hinder its work, DPA reported, quoted by BTA.

According to the foundation, hundreds of men identified as Hamas fighters have gathered near the aid distribution center in Khan Younis in the southern part of the enclave. "We have received information that Hamas fighters may infiltrate aid centers disguised as women," the GHF said in a statement. X.

The foundation has closed the site and will temporarily suspend the distribution of aid only to women in all its sites. “This is not a choice we want to make, but a decision imposed by “Hamas“,“ the HFG said. The organization specifies that it is not yet known when the service for women will be resumed, but that it is working to do so as soon as possible.

The foundation has been the subject of controversy, mainly due to repeated reports of fatal incidents near the aid distribution points, DPA recalls.
