Bentley presented the new Flying Spur. The sedan got a hybrid powertrain based on a biturbo eight-cylinder four-liter engine, the latest generation of mechatronics and, for the first time, Wellness seats with micro-adjustment of body position and a built-in thermoregulation system. So far, the fourth generation Spur is presented only in the tuned version, capable of accelerating from a standstill to 100 km/h in 3.5 seconds.
The Bentley Flying Spur sedan, unlike the two-door Continental GT, retains the usual optics with “four eyes”, but in the sharpened version of the Speed puts the mighty W12 6.0 with the Ultra Performance hybrid system. The system power of this powertrain is 782 horsepower, and the maximum torque is 1000 Nm. On electricity, the Spur travels up to 76 kilometers, and the total mileage reaches 830 kilometers.
Maximum speed is not specified, but in the predecessor it was limited to 333 kilometers per hour. The sedan comes standard with 48-volt anti-roll control, rear-wheel steering and a limited-slip differential, all part of the Bentley Performance Active Chassis package.
In addition, the car uses new software to control the stabilization system, and the static weight on the axles is 48.3:51.7 in favor of the rear. The shock absorbers are two-valve electronically controlled, with separate compression and rebound settings, making the difference between the Comfort, Bentley and Sport driving modes significantly more noticeable.
The innovation also has many visual differences from its predecessor: new 22-inch wheels in two colors, tinted exterior trim and the aerodynamic Styling Specification package in body color or with visible carbon fiber. Inside, there are reshaped seats, Dark Chrome Specification trim and new dashboard graphics.
Options also include Wellness chairs with micro-regulation of body position and a built-in thermoregulation system. as for the extras, they are similar to those of the Continental GT, with tens of billions of possible combinations of exterior colors, exterior and interior options. Even the Flying Spur has three audio systems to choose from: standard, Bang & Olufsen and the audiophile Naim, which offers eight sound profiles.
