The International Monetary Fund (IMF) forecasts global GDP growth of 3.3% this year and 3.2% in 2027. These data are presented in the IMF's latest report on the Global Economic Prospects.
“Global growth is forecast to remain stable at 3.3% in 2026 and 3.2% in 2027, comparable to the forecast of 3.3% for 2025“, the document notes. Thus, the IMF slightly revised its forecast for 2026 upwards (by 0.2 percentage points) compared to the data presented in its October 2025 report.
IMF analysts note that tariffs and related market uncertainty will continue to put pressure on global economic activity, “but their impact is expected to weaken in 2026-2027.“ Trade policy obstacles are being offset by “a sharp increase in investment in technology, including artificial intelligence“, the report authors emphasize.
