On February 13, 2026, Inter Expo Center – Sofia will host the second edition of TravelX – a forum that considers tourism not just as a travel industry, but as a strategic sector with an impact on the economy, regional development, cultural heritage and quality of life. The event will bring together representatives of the tourism business, public institutions, investors, entrepreneurs and experts to outline key directions for the development of the sector in the context of global changes. The TravelX 2026 program is structured around six main themes that outline the future of tourism in 2026-2027. Among them are the development of historical and cultural sites and their sustainability, cuisine and taste as a recognizable tourist resource, as well as the role of technology and artificial intelligence in the transformation of tourist products and services. The forum also places special focus on attractions and activities as a key element of modern travel - from extreme and seasonal experiences to the creation of specially designed experience and immersive formats that combine history and technology.
An important emphasis in the program are also events - festivals, concerts and cultural formats, which in recent years have turned Bulgaria into an active scene for international and local initiatives and have established themselves as a strong driver for tourist flow and the local economy. The sixth key theme is alternative accommodation as a form of modern hospitality - caravans, glamping, camping and other non-traditional forms of accommodation that meet the demand of new travelers for sustainable experiences, closeness to nature and a different type of tourist experience. Lectures and panel discussions will encourage dialogue between different sectors and create a space for business, institutions and the expert community to meet.
TravelX 2026 will be attended by established professionals and practitioners from Bulgaria and abroad - representatives of tourism organizations, technology companies, investors and project leaders with proven impact. Among them will be experts from the private cultural and public sectors who manage and develop tourist sites such as museums, galleries and cultural monuments.
