UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres has proposed the creation of a $3 billion global fund for artificial intelligence (AI).
„I call for the creation of a global fund for AI development to build core capacity in developing countries, develop skills and data collection, ensure access to computing technologies, and create inclusive systems. Our goal is $3 billion,” he said, speaking at a conference on the development of artificial intelligence in New Delhi.
Guterres stressed that AI should augment human potential, not replace it, and that technologies should be safe for everyone.
At the same time, the Spanish prime minister called the risk of AI getting out of human control real. Pedro Sanchez also noted that AI provides humanity with “unprecedented power“.
