Record high diesel price in Germany - 1

Diesel prices in Germany have reached a record high, averaging 2.3 euros per liter, the All-German Automobile Club (ADAC) said in a press release.

According to the club, the new peak surpassed the previous record set in March 2022. At the same time, prices for Super E10 gasoline increased to 2.13 euros per liter, the highest value since the beginning of the year. ADAC considers the price increase unjustified, citing the drop in oil prices at the end of March. They also do not rule out the possibility that oil companies are taking additional risks in their prices due to restrictions on price changes. The club emphasizes that no fuel shortage is expected in Germany, as supplies continue and the country's strategic reserves are sufficient for approximately 90 days.

As noted in the report, one of the key factors driving the price increase remains the situation in the Middle East, including risks to oil supplies through the Strait of Hormuz, which previously led to a rise in global commodity prices.
