The sea season started earlier this year, dariknews.bg reported. Dozens of hotels by the sea open already on May 1. The reason is the series of holidays around the Easter holidays. Advance bookings point to a 20% increase in bookings for this summer.
“There is great interest from the Romanian market. During the pandemic years, the Bulgarians recognized our Black Sea. Packages range from 3 to 7 days. Most of them include overnight stay, breakfast and festive lunch for Easter itself, about BGN 100-120 per person spends a day with food,” said Dilyana Tsoneva from the Regional Tourist Chamber in Burgas.
According to her, the expected growth of tourists is 20%, but the personnel crisis is deepening, although a 10-15% increase in the wages of resort workers is reported.
Due to the personnel crisis, this summer at sea they will rely on workers from Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Bangladesh, even from Bali.
„This is staff from third countries, outside the EU. It is urgent to talk to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on the topic of easing the procedures for work visas, commented tour operator Ivan Kiryazov.
