At the end of 2023, this figure reached a record 40 billion dollars, and we believe that this figure is completely achievable, said the president of the ninth largest country in the world, Kasim-Zhorat Tokayev, during a meeting with the Chinese vice-premier Liu Guozhong.
The Chinese guest arrived in Kazakhstan on an official visit. The parties discussed the current state and prospects for the development of the bilateral strategic partnership, the progress of the governments of both countries in the implementation of the agreements previously reached between Tokayev and Chinese President Xi Jinping. They also discussed the prospects for strengthening cooperation in the fields of trade, investment, agriculture, transport and logistics, energy and tourism. In addition, issues of the development of cultural and humanitarian ties were discussed.
The Kazakh leader emphasized that Astana was and remains a reliable partner of Beijing. According to him, bringing bilateral relations with China to a new qualitative level is the most important priority for Kazakhstan.
In turn, the Vice Premier of the State Council of China noted the positive dynamics in the development of cooperation between the PRC and Kazakhstan. “As a long-time and good friend of the Chinese people, over the years you have made an important contribution to the development of Sino-Kazakhstan relations, which is highly appreciated by the Chinese side. I am confident that under your leadership, Kazakhstan will move forward in the development of the country and the building of a powerful and prosperous new Kazakhstan. China and Kazakhstan are good neighbors, reliable partners and very good friends who complement each other”, said Liu Guojun.
