Today the first flight on the Sofia-Baku route was welcomed. The line will be operated by the Azerbaijani national carrier AZAL. There will be flights every Tuesday and Friday.
„This direct flight marks a significant step in expanding connectivity between Bulgaria and Azerbaijan, strengthening both economic and cultural relations. It will stimulate bilateral trade, investment opportunities and business development. It will also promote cultural exchange by giving travelers a new opportunity to share and appreciate the heritage and traditions of both countries," said Jesus Cabayero, CEO of SOF Connect.
With the new route, Bulgarian passengers will have the opportunity to enjoy Baku. The capital and commercial center of Azerbaijan is located on the shore of the Caspian Sea. It is famous for its medieval walled old town, which houses the Palace of the Shirvanshahs – a huge royal complex, and the iconic stone Maiden's Tower. Among the modern sights are the "Heydar Aliyev" center designed by Zaha Hadid; and the three pointed skyscrapers – the “Flame“ towers.
