"The period in which Peevski seemed to be a normal politician seems to be running out and returning to a previous period in which he was considered toxic to political life and everyone shunned him", said the former acting Minister of Justice Krum Zarkov in the program "Bulgaria, Europe and the World in Focus" on "Focus".
According to him, in another portion of sharp criticism between the first in the country - Radev, Borisov and Peevski - the president was "sharp, but on point" and has not escalated the situation.
As for the difficult gathering of a quorum in parliament, Krum Zarkov is convinced that for now it is a tactical victory for the opposition in its various dimensions, but it is only a tactical move.
"The truth is that this whole picture of instability will continue, because the four-party government, which includes GERB, BSP, ITN and Peevski's MRF, continues to see itself as a minority, which obviously does not correspond to the truth, and this tension, this discrepancy will continue to grow. So, games with the quorum will most likely become part of the life of this parliament, which reminds us of other historical periods where parliaments did not survive for who knows how long in such a situation," said Zarkov. And he added: "Until the majority names itself or transforms itself into something that is acceptable in order to bear the appropriate responsibility for decision-making, if it does not, it must be reformatted. Until the next political game and task - the election of a new president, all this time what and how the majority does, who is the de facto holder of power in Bulgaria, will be a question. And this question will be increasingly discussed, and the answers must become more convincing. If this does not happen, nothing good awaits this majority".
