Inspections are beginning along the entire Black Sea Coast to determine whether there is development in the ravines and rivers. This was announced to the media in Albena by the Minister of Regional Development and Public Works Ivan Ivanov, BTA reports. He specified that if there are signals of similar problems for the interior of the country, inspections will also be carried out.

Ivanov said that data has been requested from the Basin Directorates and the Regional Inspectorate for Environment and Water where there are riverbeds on the Black Sea Coast, and the information will also be recorded with the cadastre. If construction is established somewhere, all measures provided for by law will be taken against the violators, the minister pointed out.

He added that today the RDNSK - Burgas, has issued an act establishing illegal construction in Elenite. It is about to be announced to the interested parties and the next step will be issuing an order to demolish the illegally built, Ivanov pointed out. He added that this applies to the correction of the riverbed, as well as to the aquapark.

The minister said that he had visited Elenite and seen an apocalyptic picture. The holiday village suffered from floods in early October.

If this had happened during the active season, the victims would have been at least 400, said Minister Ivanov. According to him, it is important that the state is in place and will be uncompromising towards any such case.

In response to a question, the minister indicated that the illegal correction of the riverbed in Elenite, which has led to the formation of a plug, because the water does not follow its natural path, will be removed. Whether the hotel in this place will last, Ivanov did not undertake to comment. He indicated that there are legal deadlines that stipulate when the actual demolition of the illegal construction in the area will begin, emphasizing that the water park also has no documents.

The minister also said that it is the job of the prosecutor's office to establish who did not do their job back in time and did not see that construction was taking place in this area. According to him, all documentation has already been handed over to the state prosecution.
